Hess Creek Canyon Committee

The committee will maintain the grounds in the Hess Creek Canyon. An example of such maintenance includes the planting of trees, bushes and ground cover, construction of wire screens to protect plants from wildlife and maintain a watering schedule for new plants. The committee recommends which trees and plants need to be removed and, in some cases, does the actual removal. Trails and bridges are also maintained by the removal of debris and regular inspection and repairs.  In 2015 the committee formed a partnership with the Newberg High School Greenhouse Program.  Committee members interact with the high school students using the canyon to study the ecosystem, erosion patterns and maintenance needs.
